Medicare

Medicare divides diabetic coverage between Part B (DME/Medical) and Part D (Rx).

Part B (DME/Medical)

Supplies: Meters, test strips, lancets, and lancing devices.

Equipment: Continuous Glucose Monitors and insulin pumps.

Cost:  Generally 20% of the Medicare-approved amount after you meet your Part B deductible.

Part D (Rx)

Supplies: Syringes, needles, alcohol swabs, and gauze. 

Both Part B and Part D cap the cost of a one-month supply of covered insulin at $35.
