Hemoglobin A1C – Rise and Fall

This helps you learn about the rise of fall of your blood sugars and how over the course of several months you will know how you are doing with your blood sugars.

You can purchase a single hemoglobin A1C test from Quest Labs or you can have your endocrinologist 0r primary care doctor order a blood test for you.   A normal range for an A1C test for a non-diabetic is below 5.7%.  If your A1C is higher than that, you may be diagnosied with pre-diabetes (5.7% – 6.4%) and for diabetes (6.5% or higher).  The higher the A1C test, the more you often you are having high blood sugars and this may cause complications.
